Berry & Lamberts' Charity of the Year 2024

We have nominated PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide as our 2024 charity of the year.

PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the UK charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people. PAPYRUS believe that no young person should have to struggle alone with thoughts of suicide.

PAPYRUS exists to reduce the number of young people who take their own lives, by shattering the stigma surrounding suicide and equipping young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to emotional distress.

We will be fundraising throughout 2024 to raise as much money as possible for the charity, as well as helping to raise its profile and getting more people talking.

Please help us if you can, by making a donation, however small, to our Just Giving page.

Berry & Lamberts' Charity of the Year 2023

We nominated local charity, Taylor-Made Dreams, as our charity of the year in 2023. Taylor-Made Dreams enables children with terminal and life-limiting illnesses to achieve their dreams when time is precious. They provide many services including bucket list wishes, holistic therapy and counselling sessions, travel grants, medical sheepskin fleeces and the sibling support service.

We were pleased to end the year having raised £4,255! Thank you to everyone who helped us to raise this.

In previous years we have supported other local and deserving charities including Porchlight, Kent’s largest charity for homeless, vulnerable and isolated people; Hospice in the Weald which provides compassionate, holistic and supportive care for people with a terminal illness, their families and carers across West Kent and East Sussex and the 3H Foundation, a local charity which runs holidays and day trips for disabled people and enables carers to have respite.

Community Sponsorships

As a long-standing, established business, we have been part of the West Kent community for over 270 years. It is very important to us that we give back and are passionate that we are an integrated part of the community. Here are just some of the things we have been involved in recently:

We are proud to be a long-standing Corporate Partner of Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells. Trinity Theatre is a 291-seat theatre and arts venue in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, set in a striking 19th century Decimus Burton designed grade II* listed building. It is a vital community hub, offering outreach projects for local schools and community groups as well as running an ambitious programme of events and activities.

In the summer of 2022, we were delighted to be the reusable cup sponsor for Local & Live.

This four day, free music festival supports and showcases local grassroots music and is a highlight in the annual events calendar. We also supported the Tunbridge Wells Fringe Festival. This two week festival featured local artists, performers and groups offering a host of events across the arts, performing in a wide range of venues across Tunbridge Wells.

In 2022, we also linked up with the Sevenoaks Summer Festival by sponsoring one of their main events.

The Paddock Wood Summer Carnival is well attended by local residents and those further afield and we were pleased to continue to sponsor this event in 2022.

We are a regular supporter of the annual Tonbridge Calling Festival This free festival aims to increase diversity and tolerance by bringing people within the community together.

In addition to supporting local community events, we have also supported a number of local schools, sports teams and individuals as well as sponsoring local radio.
